The steps, in order.
Nothing here is a surprise and nothing is a commitment until you sign something.
1 · A short call: Ten or fifteen minutes on the phone to understand the basics and decide whether a longer conversation is worth both our time. No cost, no obligation.
2 · The discovery conversation: About an hour and in person where the geography allows. This is our first look at how the company runs today and what you are building. If we are not the right practice for what you need, this is usually where that becomes clear, and we will point you somewhere better when we can. Again, no cost, no obligation.
3 · A mutual non-disclosure agreement: Before we look at anything real, both sides sign an NDA. Everything after this point involves your actual operations, so the protections go in place first.
4 · The Readiness Assessment: A short, fixed-fee diagnostic. We examine how the company runs across all five areas of the framework, identify where the real constraints are, and produce a written picture of your operation along with a specific recommendation for the Foundation's scope, depth, and pace. You own that document whether or not you continue, and it includes the findings and the quote for the work itself.
5 · The work, one stage at a time: If we choose to proceed, the engagement is scoped and proceeds stage by stage. Each stage ends with something complete, and you decide about the next one when you get there.

Step one...
The first step is a conversation. It costs nothing, it commits you to nothing, and by the end of it you will know whether this is the right work at the right time for your company.

What the initial conversations actually are.
The first is short. Ten or fifteen minutes on the phone, enough for us to understand roughly what your company does, why you reached out, where things stand, and a bit about what we do. If it is clear from that call that we are not the right practice for what you need, we will say so and save us both the calendar time.
If it looks like a fit, we then schedule a follow up discovery conversation. That one runs closer to an hour, and we would rather have it in person if you are in the Portland area. We will ask how the company runs today, what is straining, what you have already tried, and what you are trying to build. You should ask us whatever you need to, including the questions that may be awkward.
What these conversations are not:
-
Not a pitch. There is no deck.
-
Not a free consultation. We are not going to solve your operating problems in an hour, and we will not pretend to.
-
Not a commitment. Nothing is billed.
What we are both doing is deciding whether to keep talking.
